The Law Enforcement First Response Tactical Casualty Care (LEFR and sometimes pronounced “Leefer”) is a State of California Approved and
UASI reimbursable California Tactical Emergency First Aid/Trauma Care course and exceeds all requirements for the State of California Commission on Peace Officer Standardization and Training (POST) for patrol officers (POST Plan-IV 1102-21772) and is approved by the California EMS Authority.
This course teaches first responders and allied professionals the basic medical care interventions, which can save an injured person’s life until they can be assisted by conventional EMS. It uses the principles of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), and meets the recommendations of the Hartford Consensus documents and the Committee on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC) guidelines.
Tactical Casualty Care model courses presented by STOPS are supervised by National TCCC/TECC Affiliate Faculty and LEFR-TCC (Tactical Emergency First Aid/Trauma Care) delivered by Strategic Operations contains additional content, making the program compliant with certain provisions of the 2015 amendments to the California Code of Regulations under Title 22 and training standards set forth in various statutes as amended under AB 1598 (2014).
